Small watercolor studies

Small watercolor studies

I hope you are managing okay in these strange, lock down days.

Most often I use oil paint, but I like experimenting with other media, including watercolor and gouache. The three Hill Door mini paintings and two Hill Woman pieces were done during the stay at home order. I felt like working in a different mode and I had some new supplies to try out – fine line masking fluid and bleeding tissue paper (recommended by watercolor artist Liz Waddington at a recent Glenview Art League demo). I often sketch and draw in these themes – layers of symbols, the accumulation of meaning.

I’m putting these a number of other small watercolor and gouache studies up in my etsy shop.
