Climate Crisis Print

I made this lino print in whole-hearted support of the Sept. 2019 Global Climate Strike. (All proceeds from this edition of 20 will go to the Citizens’ Climate Lobby.) I experimented with different visual elements, and thought a lot about how what’s required to bring my way of life into harmony with a healthy climate.

A hand – a blessing hand, an aware hand. Surrounded by non-human life and energy (weather, time, space). An eye – observing, open, aware. Envisioning a shift in values and long view of survival, necessity and success.

I printed this on a shirt, I’d like to make more. I’m thinking about making it into a poster, or maybe stickers? Like a visual reminder. The slogan I have in mind is “Action and vision for the climate.” Let me know if you have other ideas. The energy is here, the solutions are here. We can connect.
